If he ever needs to escape his troubles, past or present, video games are always an option and as a god himself, he would have no problem acquiring a much sought-after PlayStation 5. In terms of the specific games he would play, some would be similar to God of War where he could show off his skills. In others, he would seek an entirely different experience.
10 Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
When it comes to mortals, the key demographic for video game consumption, they often want to experience what it is like to have superpowers. But since Kratos himself is already a god, perhaps role-playing as a human could pose a worthy adventure. Set in his new home of the Norse world, as well as the sought-after fertile lands of the British Isles, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would be a perfect introduction to the world of video games.

9 A Total War Saga: TROY
Platforms: PC, Mac
As a former Spartan general, if Kratos ever fancied a bit of nostalgia or wished to refine his old skills, then A Total War Saga: TROY would offer him all he needed. As one of the installments of the Total War series with fantasy elements, Kratos would be able to sink his teeth into the lore of the Trojan war and reminisce about the gods he brought down.
The ability to control armies and send men into battle without any real-life consequences could be just what the God of War needs, specifically as a substitute to make sure he doesn’t fall back into his old ways.
8 SMITE
Platform: PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Switch
If there is one thing Kratos is good at, it’s killing fellow gods. As a multiplayer online battle arena where enemies keep respawning until the game is over, SMITE would offer Kratos the opportunity to endlessly prove the weight behind his title, God of War.
Furthermore, with SMITE featuring an ever-growing roster of over 120 gods taken from mythologies all over the world, Kratos would experience deities outside his Norse and Greek comfort zone. The only problem might be having to work with four other teammates.
7 LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga
Platforms: PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, Mobile
LEGO games are some of the best co-op games to play with a partner, friend, or even a parent. If Kratos ever decides that there are better ways to bond with his son Atreus than hunting, then LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is always there for them.

Seeing as this is a collection of two games based on the first six Star Wars films, there is enough content to last them an eternal Norwegian winter. If any game can help a father and son avoid the fate of Luke and Anakin, it’s a LEGO game.
6 DOOM Eternal
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch
Kratos has a dark past that includes brutal slaughter instigated by none other than himself. Having moved on from his bloodthirsty days, if he ever felt the need to take his anger out, then first-person shooter DOOM Eternal could offer him a safe place to let loose.
In the latest installment of a series known for non-stop shooting, Kratos could just keep going and going until the anger has passed. The high-paced action and once again incredible soundtrack will have any player’s blood pumping, regardless of divine nature.
5 theHunter: Call Of The Wild

4 It Takes Two

As a Game of the Year winner, it is no surprise that It Takes Two would appeal to Kratos — who, after all, comes as a package deal with his son Atreus. In a game designed for two people, the divine duo would have their teamwork put to the test once more.
With a plethora of puzzles, challenges, and bosses to beat in creative ways, the endless fun could be precisely what they need after all they have been through. The quirky and abstract setting would also come as a welcome break from the dark undertones they are all too familiar with.
3 Ghost of Tsushima

2 Valheim
Platforms: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
After leaving the world of the Olympians behind for the realm of Midgard, Kratos seems better suited to the Norse world. For a peaceful and relaxing experience of his new home, there is no better game than Valheim.
Although this survival game is full of things to do, its greatest appeal to Kratos would be the lack of people. Other than the merchant and Hugin the raven, there just aren’t any other characters — not even a talking head. Kratos could hunt, build, farm, and slay bosses all day without any dreaded social interaction.
1 Euro Truck Simulator 2
Platforms: PC, Mac
For a man looking for peace and quiet, Euro Truck Simulator 2 might be so well suited to Kratos, that he’d end up applying to be a real truck driver. Other than already looking the part, a retired God of War would be able to concentrate on deliveries and managing fuel expenditure, all without having to listen to any annoying dwarven blacksmiths.
Thanks to the maturity Kratos has developed since his days in Ancient Greece, he would even be able to keep road rage in check on particularly difficult journeys. Although this simulator game might not be the most popular, for those who fall under its target audience like Kratos, it is incredibly well-rated.
